New web site.......

I suppose a few people will be thinking "what on Earth does he want his own web site for?"
Well, I have built all of The Fortunes web sites except the very first one, and over many years it has become increasingly difficult keeping the site interesting enough to make people want to return to it without losing sight of the fact that the site is about The Fortunes. The truth of the matter is, when bands such as ours aren't working, we rarely see each other....hence, no news!  If there is a large tour on the books, a trip abroad, or a cruise where we are in each others pockets so to speak, then there is something to write about.

I was accused, quite rightly at one point in time, of making The Fortunes site look more like the Michael Smitham web site! So, after 'consultation' with the other guys, I decided to keep The Fortunes site strictly about business and started my "Smitham's Meanderings" blog a couple of years ago. Since then, I have been amazed at the amount of interest shown. The 'stats' page show that there is a readership which is bigger than I could have imagined.

But it is quite expensive year on year compared to this site.

So folks, this is where I will be scribbling away from now on....................
